Welcome to the Eco-Schools page. Here you will find our about the Eco-Schools Action Team as well as information about the initiatives and projects we are taking part in.
The Action Team meet regularly to discuss ideas and work on the projects that we are involved in. So far this year, we have completed our Environmental Review and we are now working together to plan which environmental issues we would like to tackle this year.
Our long-term project is to achieve the Green Flag. In order to do this, we would like to open the Eco-Schools Action Team up to parents and grandparents. If you have a keen interest in all things 'eco', then please speak to Miss Westwood or pass your details to Ms Affleck in the School Office.
Every dinnertime, two children from the Eco-Schools Action Team are Climate Cops. They go around school looking for electrical items that have been left on when not in use. Then, at the end of the week, the classes with the lowest number of items left on are awarded Eco-Class of the Week in our Friday assembly. Following that, at the end of each half term, the winning classes from Foundation Stage/Key Stage One and Key Stage Two are awarded our specially created trophies. We also have a special prize for the winning class at the end of the year. Good luck to everyone!
